MetroPhoto - QuickView by clindhartsen MetroPhoto - QuickView by clindhartsen
Another work in progress of my "Metro Across Windows" concepts, this one is focusing around a possible Windows Live Photo Gallery replacement with a Metro-inspired design.

This piece focusing upon what would be the "QuickView," this view would provide you with a quick view of the latest, or largest, album for today, yesterday, and this last week [7 days]. The segments included would be camera [photos you import], phone [work w/ WinPho7, all txt'd and taken photos; would work with iPhone in theory as well], and social [photos from your friends on social networks]. The background from this part would be kept dark, but could feature any picture of your choice from your collection.

The concept links back to the Windows Phone concept, as well as the Zune PC software, and this view seems like a nice way to get into the program and see some of the latest stuff you'd taken, especially the [theoretical] instantly over-the-air synced phone images, as well as social networking photos from countless networks.

Any thoughts for improvements, adjustments, or maybe another way 'QuickView' should work?

Edit 1: Corrected spelling on top

this looks great, but is Microsoft really doing this sort of design for the next Windows ?, i mean dont get me wrong your Concept is fab, but every application made for Windows will have to change because of the new Drastic UI change and most applications just starting to use this Aero Glass will now have to just stop again... or am i wrong... i hope i am :la:

It could go either way, but the key thing to note is that Windows Live products are developed independently of the OS, so they are likely somewhat open to what direction they get developed in.

Still, I wouldn't put it beyond Microsoft to go off the wall, though I wouldn't be amazed if it got the same reaction Vista got initially [albeit that was performance + the change]

That looks amazing :)

I've heard rumors that Windows 8 might be very metro-esq

With how bi-polar Microsoft seems to be on UI, I wouldn't be amazed if Metro made more of an appearance in future versions of Windows + the applications within. It's kind of interesting to see actual application of it though, between the Zune software, MetroTwit [link] , Bend [text editor mentioned in latest Windows Weekly] [link] , and I'd love to see how they could implement it where the Ribbon appears to be too much [in my opinion, the Live suite of software]

love windows weekly :p downloaded and installed bend as well. and yea, the ribbon is a bit much. honestly i miss the old file menu dropdown stuff. kind of ugly and outdated, but it got the job done.
