A work in progress, this continues the series of "Metro Across Windows" in pushing the Metro style in a Photo Gallery setting.
To note, I did kind of cheat by just using color blocks in place of actual photographs, but I may replace those in a later update. The main concept of the UI would be to divide up your images by their source, whether they are from your camera, which you import manually [memory cards, usb], your phone [would love this to function like the Kin Studio, auto-sync phone to the cloud], and then social, which would feature photos from across your social networks [Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, other].
The Gallery view, seen here, would be able to be viewed in multiple sorting fashions, the primary one being by 'Date Taken.' Those would be sorted secondarily by the list of options on the right, which would vary with each option you would choose. Functions for the image you click would be available below it's details in the right hand panel, and would be rather basic, which would then go into depth.
Any suggestions on how to improve this concept?
Edit 1: To note, the background would be any image from your gallery, set to black/white and blended in a subtle fashion. This could be modified, but this would be default.
Edit 2: Shifted buttons in bottom left back to black to be consistent with other items already added
Edit 3: Added quick buttons to image, which would appear brighter when moused over. Also replaced placeholder blue block with placeholder image. The image is from the 'Sample Images' included in Windows 7
I would like to see what viewing a picture would be like and where to go from there. ie. When you are at any screen on the Zune software it shows the song name, album title, and album cover in the bottom middle, etc...
