This one is a bit less polished than my recent mail concepts, but I'm still trying to figure out icon arangement and figuring out where different features [bookmarks, other] should be placed.

I'm open to any ideas, and don't mean to push on others projects, just experimenting with an idea here. As well, it actually has a small callback to the Longhorn days with the large back/small forward button in the top left.

Thoughts? Ideas for improvement? Changes?

hmm it looks like metro but the contrast between the white and black toolbar might seem a tad high. Metro has always been about minimalism and focus on the subject. I don't know anything about this but I've always wanted a semitransparent toolbar that disappears when the pointer is gone to maximize screen real estate :D nice job though!

I don't get why the toolbars are in shades of black. Maybe you should use the inactive tab's grey and get lighter from there.
And what about hovering a link? You should show what happens. Will it be like the chrome statusbar where you hover a link and the link location appears on the bottom left as a popup?
And maybe you should get rid of the titlebar so the back button and tabs can take advantage of fitts' law.

No no no, not a problem. I honestly was just getting aggravated and did it in this form, and will change it when I do an updated concept. It just happened to be a callback to the Longhorn days, such as shown in this picture [link]

I tend to be the type of person who can get something done if it's what my mind is set on. On that note as well, I just find the idea of Metro across my PC interesting, though I do see where pitfalls happen [such as this UI] and how it would need to be adjusted to work better, or where others MSFT design styles [Ribbons, for one] may work better.

The only thing that doesn't look very good are the toolbars at the top. They don't flow together very well with the rest of the software, which is something that I really like about the Zune software (it's not cluttery-looking).
